A Film by Peter Clifton. America in performance at New York’s Central Park. Filmed  in New York and California in 1979

At the end of the Summer of 1979 a renowned Australian film maker travelled to New York to film the climactic concert of AMERICA'S world tour.  In front of a packed out open air ampi theatre the band's founders Dewey Bunuel and Gerry Beckley with an the all star line up of musicians performed their all time hits in an electrifying concert captured by Peter Clifton and his band of cinematographers. Peter later returned with the band to Hollywood, California where Peter kept shooting Gerry and Dewey as they over dubbed the concert recordings at Captitol EMI recording studios. To complete the one hour film Peter took the band to the Palm Springs desert to recreate the original inspiration behind Horse With No Name and then spent weeks during the post production shooting night street life, special effects and winter surfing in San Fransisco.

The live concert special is the only time America have been shot on film and remains a testament to one of the great jazz rock bands. Also included are interviews with Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunuel at a New York hotel talking with Peter Clifton
